Position Overview
The WCRX Student Public Affairs Director is responsible for coordinating all non-music content aired on the station. This role involves overseeing series production, managing public affairs programming, curating live and recorded Public Service Announcements (PSAs), and assisting the Music Director in generating the FCC-required quarterly reports.
Primary Responsibilities
Review and approve recorded PSAs to ensure they meet station quality and sound standards.
Write live PSA copy for on-air talent.
Produce, update, and record the station’s weekly job line.
Produce and record PSAs and other station announcements as needed.
Organize and rotate all live and recorded PSAs in the Music Management and Scheduling system as directed by the Station Director.
Assist the Station Director with maintaining the public file.
Edit interviews and produce finalized audio for the station’s weekend public affairs programming.
Coordinate and upload programs for syndication.
Qualifications
Ideal candidates will have a basic understanding of FCC regulations and radio broadcasting, strong audio production and copywriting skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
