King Noah emerges from the vibrant musical landscape of Chicago's west side, carving his niche as an artist with a distinct blend of alternative R&B and soul. From his high school days of crafting hooks and penning verses, King Noah has spent the past six years honing his style. Despite coming from all across the map, the Midwest has become home for Murder Medication. Formed in 2022, the band takes influence from early 2000s emo and indie rock. But the musicians in Murder Medication don't stick to any particular genre. You’ll just have to listen!

This artist made his first song when he was just a fourteen-year-old kid back in Crystal Lake, IL. Ever since, he’s been obsessed with the writing process and creating something of his own. Now a sophomore at CCC, Marko continues to use music as an outlet to express himself.

Nathan Frederic is an acoustic musician originally from the San Francisco Bay Area. He plays indie rock with hints of psychedelia, inspired by folk artists like Nick Drake and Elliott Smith. With a family from Québec, Nathan is also heavily influenced by 70s prog bands like Beau Dommage and Harmonium.

Originating in New York, the band began as a side project for singer and guitarist Patrick O’Shea. Patrick is a freshman audio major at Columbia College Chicago who has been playing music for just a few years. The band has already released four albums, including their most recent, Kick.

MALA $ANTA is a Chicago-born rapper and producer who entices her audience with unique rhythms and lyrics. Mala started pursuing music in 2022, but while her experience is brief, her vision is clear.

Led by singer songwriter Conor Girard, Roaming Bear is a name that is synonymous with fun and adventure. Girard's music is inspired by the early riff-heavy midwest emo bands as much as the comedic acoustic ballads of Milwaukee’s Violent Femmes.

Adelaide is a Chicago based folk artist originally from the metro-Detroit area. For them, poetry and songwriting are a way of healing and processing difficult times. Adelaide finds most of their inspiration in conversations with loved ones and the folk music of the 1960s. Their music touches on themes of family, heartache, identity, and coming-of-age.

RETROSPECT

Fusing the traits of vintage music with the cutting-edge sounds of funk, jazz, and hip hop, Retrospect, led by saxophonist Ben Jossi, has developed a passion for original compositions and arrangements. Their synthesis keeps the sound fresh while staying true to the spirit of improvised performance.

OYEME

Wedding energetic folk with experimental electronic textures and a resounding "get me the hell out the suburbs" sentiment, Oyeme and her band stretch the distance from Appalachia to downtown Chicago by folding the map in half and poking a hole through it with a pencil. On the EP "Dead End Neighborhood", Oyeme embarks on her first non-solo outing exploring intimate five-piece midwestern folktronica and elemental road trip throw downs.

 For the Brooklyn-born rapper Moses the Marauder, New York's sound and culture serves as an outlet to express what is within. His lifelong affinity with hip hop has inspired Moses’ own unique blend of gritty bars, intricate rhyme schemes, and mellifluous melodies.

A 19-year-old artist born and raised on the south side of Chicago, Sabo 3000 is a jack of all trades in the hip hop genre. After starting his rap career on Soundcloud, he has continued to explore his craft and perfect his flow. Keep an eye out for sabo at open mics throughout the city.
